2011 Youth Garden Grants Program
The National Gardening Association awards Youth Garden Grants to schools and community organizations with child-centered garden programs. In evaluating grant applications, priority will be given to programs that emphasize one or more of these elements:
- educational focus or curricular/program integration
- nutrition or plant-to-food connections
- environmental awareness/education
- entrepreneurship
- social aspects of gardening such as leadership development, team building, community support, or service-learning.
Applications for the 2010-2011 cycle will be available soon. In 2010, the application was due around the first of November.
The Captain Planet Foundation
Funding of hands-on environmental projects to encourage youth around the world to work individually and collectively to solve environmental problems in their neighborhoods and communities. $250 - $2500
Deadlines: September 30 or December 31, 2010.
Toyota Tapestry Mini-Grants
50 grants of up to $10,000 each and a minimum of 20 "mini-grants" of $2,500 each are available to K-12 teachers of science. $10,000 grant winners will receive an all-expense paid trip to the NSTA convention
Deadline: Sometime in January 2011
Seeds for Education
Small monetary grants to schools, nature centers, or other non-profit educational organizations for the purpose of establishing outdoor learning centers. Up to $500
Deadline: November 15, 2010
Field Trips, Arts and Early Childhood Reading Grants
Target store grant applications are accepted at two different times per year:
- Arts and Early Childhood Reading – March 1 through April 30
- Field Trips – August 1 through September 30
